Who we are

WorldPeeks (worldpeeks.app) is a travel map made by Anna and Geri, two travellers from Hungary. It is run by Gergely Németh, Székesfehérvár, Hungary. You can reach us at hello@worldpeeks.app; the full details are in our imprint. “We” and “us” below means WorldPeeks.

By using the site you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it. How we handle personal data is explained separately in our privacy policy.

What WorldPeeks is

WorldPeeks is a map of places to visit, with spots, trails, collections, destination guides, phrasebooks, quizzes and short videos. It is free, needs no account, and is provided for your personal, non-commercial use. We may add, change or remove any part of it, or pause the site, at any time and without notice.

Anyone can browse it, but it is not made for children under 16. If you are younger, please use it with a parent or guardian, and ask them before you send us a message. Videos play on YouTube, which has its own age rules.

Travel safely

Many of our places are outdoors: viewpoints, cliffs, beaches, trails and via ferratas. These carry real risks, and conditions change with the season, the weather and local decisions. WorldPeeks is a source of ideas, not a guide that knows today’s conditions.

• Check access, opening times, closures and conditions with official and local sources before you go.
• Judge for yourself whether a place, a trail or a route suits your fitness, experience, equipment and the weather on the day. Weather, sunrise and sunset come from a third party and are forecasts, not guarantees.
• Follow local laws, signs and the instructions of landowners and authorities. Don’t enter private property or closed areas because a place is on our map.
• Respect nature, wildlife and the people who live there.

You visit every place at your own risk and are responsible for your own safety.

Accuracy of our content

We research and visit places carefully, but we can’t guarantee that everything is complete, current or correct: coordinates, routes, distances, elevation, opening details, prices, translations and facts can be wrong or go out of date. If you spot a mistake, please use “Report a problem” on the map or in a phrasebook, or write to us, and we will fix it.

Our content, and how you may share it

The videos, photos, texts, descriptions, routes, phrasebooks, quizzes, illustrations and the selection and arrangement of the places on WorldPeeks are ours, unless they are marked as someone else’s, and all rights are reserved. The WorldPeeks name and logo are ours too.

You are welcome to:

• use the site for your own trips and inspiration;
• share links to any page, spot or trail, including with the site’s share buttons;
• share the cards and images the site makes for you to share, unchanged;
• quote a short passage, with a credit and a link back to WorldPeeks.

Anything else, such as copying, republishing, selling, or reusing our content in another site, app, dataset or AI training set, needs our written permission first. Ask us at hello@worldpeeks.app.

Your suggestions and reports

When you suggest a place, report a problem or send us feedback, you allow us to use it to improve WorldPeeks, for example by adding the place to the map or correcting a spot, free of charge, worldwide and without time limit. We don’t have to use a suggestion, and we write and film our own content about the places we add. Please only send what is yours to share, and nothing unlawful or offensive. What we do with the personal data in your message is explained in the privacy policy.

Using the site fairly

Please don’t:

• copy the site’s content or data in bulk, by scraping, crawling or automated downloads, beyond what search engines do to index public pages;
• frame the site or embed our map in another site, or use the site in a way that runs up our costs with the services behind it;
• try to get around the site’s spam checks or limits, overload it, probe it for weaknesses or reach parts that are not meant to be public;
• use the contact form or problem reports for spam, advertising or harassment, or send someone else’s personal data;
• remove or hide copyright notices or the map’s attribution;
• use the site for anything unlawful.

We may block access for anyone who does.

Services from other companies

Parts of WorldPeeks come from other companies, and their own terms also apply when you use them:

• The map and place search are provided by Mapbox, with map data from OpenStreetMap contributors and others (Mapbox terms, OpenStreetMap copyright).
• Videos are played by YouTube. By playing one, you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service.
• Weather, sunrise and sunset come from Open-Meteo.

Links, advertising and affiliate links

We link to other sites, such as Google Maps, YouTube, Instagram and TikTok. We are not responsible for their content or how they work, and their own terms apply once you follow a link.

Some pages may carry advertising, sponsored content or affiliate links, which earn us a small commission at no extra cost to you. We will always label them, and anything you buy through them is between you and the seller.

Our liability

WorldPeeks is provided free of charge, as it is and as available. We do our best to keep it working, accurate and safe, but we don’t promise that it will always be available, free of errors or suitable for a particular purpose.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from your use of the site or from relying on its content, including what happens on a trip or at a place you found on WorldPeeks, or for the services and sites of other companies.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, such as for harm we cause intentionally or for harm to life, body or health, and nothing here takes away rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the site changes, for example when we add new features. We will post the new version here with a new date at the top. If you keep using WorldPeeks after a change, the new terms apply.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by Hungarian law. If you live in the EU as a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in its courts. If something goes wrong, please write to us first; we would much rather sort it out together.

If any part of these terms turns out to be invalid, the rest still applies.
